about CHRIS DILL

Hi, my name is Chris Dill and I have been a freelance graphic and web designer since 2000. I started working at regular jobs after high school without having a college education. I got married young and had three great kids.

I ended up at a good paying job but it seemed like I lived at the factory more than I lived at home. I was working so hard and swamped with so much overtime to make the money to pay the bills, to be able to hand the money over to the bill collectors. I had no time do anything fun and exciting with my family.

My life changed forever when a friend from work, Michelle, told me about a company she had an email newsletter subscription to and how that company was looking for artists and animators. It was a joke based website who were looking for people with the skills to make animated cartoons based on jokes that people tell each other. Because I was notorious for drawing funny work related doodles and cartoons, and had always been an artist, she immediately thought of me and forwarded the email to me. I mistakenly deleted the email thinking it was spam and she asked me about it a few days later. I asked her to resend it and told her I’d pay special attention looking for it this time around. Finally, she resent it and I got it, read it, and responded to the website.

Long story short, that website hired me and I went on to work for them and quickly became an editor, leading up to a dozen animators like myself to crank out funny animated jokes. During my last 2 years at the factory, I made cartoons at the same time. I’d get off of work then go home and work on cartoons the rest of the night. It was exhausting but doing both came to an end when I was layed off after the economic impact of 9/11. I have been a freelancer ever since and have worked with many great clients big and small over the years, clients including but not limited to Rodney Carrington, Dan St. Paul, Tom Mabe, CMT, and more.

I recently finished a project for Tom Mabe on CMT (Country Music Television). Every episode of the show Mabe in America features Chris' unique animation style with characters he designed specifically for the show. [See IMDB credits]
